World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already have. This can be done through any item upgrader NPC.
Generally, upgrades boost an item's main stat and can give it extras depending on the item type. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs, or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is a key element to protect him from danger. Although it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to safeguard animals or people from harm or injury, whether it's from a direct physical attack or a variety of activity or environmental hazards. In the past, armour was typically made of leather or fabric however later, metal protections were also used, especially in military applications like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
There are many ways to upgrade your armour, but the majority of them require you to visit one of the four Great Fairy Fountains scattered throughout Hyrule. Each fountain comes with its own level of upgrades, with more granting greater levels of protection and needing a higher amount of rupees and materials to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is they are permanent upgrades, meaning that once they've been installed, they are not able to be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment that has the same upgrade. You should only apply most powerful upgrades to your equipment, and ensure that you have the materials needed to complete them.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed to upgrade your character, they are available all over Hyrule such as shrines, merchants and even enemies. These will generally be marked with an gold circle or blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large quantities as you move through the game. They may appear randomly however there is a chance that getting certain upgrades will trigger a quest which will reward you with more.
It's important to keep in mind that even though the amount that upgrades offer may vary but it will always be more than nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a high-defense boost that will protect against all kinds of attacks including magic. This makes it a formidable weapon for all classes.
Weapons
If you'd like to make your guns truly distinctive, you can upgrade them with a variety upgrades. These upgrades can boost damage or change the stats of the weapon to match your build. They can also unlock new attachments such as unique enchantments and different types of ammo, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon has to be at a minimum of an appropriate level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.
There are weapons upgrade components scattered throughout the world and from enemies, or they can be purchased from vendors. The upgrade components themselves are a mix of components that can be incorporated into armor, weapons trinkets, trinkets, or gathering tools to provide an attribute bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They require that the equipment be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the power of weapons and increase their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. These upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg, in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your top-in-slot items first. Then upgrade the ones you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. If you're planning to play in a melee-based build, for example upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders before your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your style of play, certain items will be more beneficial than others. The same goes for Armour Reforges, with certain types being better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to make or purchase however they may provide additional benefits.
A magical item can be any item with special properties or effects. These items are mostly weapons, but they could also be armors, shields or cloaks as well as potions. They could also be rings, scrolls, or other items. Some of these items are telepathic.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded so that they are enhanced with new abilities. This could make them more beneficial to players or help them to overcome a difficult situation. A weapon that is infused can provide bonus damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is especially useful for characters that have reached a point at which they are likely to encounter the same type of monster repeatedly in dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant the ability to resist piercing, bludgeoning, or slashing damage from non-magical attacks (not even silvered ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is especially beneficial for melee martial characters or any other character who wishes to save the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special powers that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their class list. This is useful for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These items that are enchanted generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell is determined by rolling on a table determined by the number of Intelligence points used.
Other items that can be enchanted may let the user change their appearance, or even create a new one. These items are especially useful for characters who have been forced to leave their home or are in a location in which they are not welcomed. A magical item can give them the ability to disappear or make them invisible for everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which does not fall into the categories of Armor or Clothing and come with a range of capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor and Clothing, no utility item is able to be in conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect which the player can activate when using them. However, some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating the skill.
The Flashlight is the most common utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the area around it. Other options include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to float in the air while moving, and the Jetpack that allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. A variety of useful items can be immediately created in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the normal inventory, players can also obtain the most useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items are upgradeable for more effective use.
The majority of utilitarian items give players a navigational advantage or increase the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, crafted by the Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, created by an Huntsman, increase Concentration and healing power. Other useful items, such as Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be utilized to give the player either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot can be obtained through the use of certain types armor or completing engineering research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots are available by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This permits players to make use of the Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade remains in the primary slot.
